Where should I stay in St Kilda?

If your itinerary is cakes, rides, and a Palais show, Acland beats Fitzroy. If your itinerary is bars until close, Fitzroy wins.

What about St Kilda East and Balaclava?
East and Balaclava sit on the Sandringham line. That is the only train. There is no St Kilda station. Carlisle Street is the walk to Acland.
